7 Tips to stay strong on your journey to your dream body and overall vitality
Hello, wonderful ladies!
Have you decided to embark on a spectacular journey towards your dream figure and overall health?
First of all, brag - great decision!
Let's be honest - this journey may feel like climbing Mount Everest in heels.
If you're one of those individuals who find yourself at a stage in life where all you have to do is look at the "forbidden fruit" of chips, chocolate or other fatty temptations, then this process is just for you to show you how to stay thorough and believe you can resist and achieve your dream weight.
But don't worry, let's do it together...
Grab a cup of green tea (or wine, I'm not judging) and let's dive into a guide that will give you strength, motivation and maybe even entertain you along the way...
1. Set realistic (and a bit ridiculous) goals
Okay, let's get one thing straight: becoming a unicorn is probably out of the question. But setting achievable goals? Totally achievable. Instead of saying, "I'm going to lose 30 pounds by next Tuesday," try saying, "I'm going to incorporate vegetables into at least one meal a day this week." That's best for you.
Joke in real life: I remember deciding to master jumping rope after trying a few jumps at a brisk pace for the first time in months.
Yes, I jumped for about a minute before I got so tangled up in the rope that I fell over my own toes and decided that was enough for the day. (At school, the jump rope was my arch enemy).
Baby steps are the key, ladies!
2. Consistency over perfection
So you had a donut for breakfast? Now that's some power! One misstep doesn't mean you should abandon ship and dive into a Netflix-and-chill marathon with a tub of ice cream.
Sympathetic Sigh: I once ate an entire pizza because I "messed up" my lunch menu. Spoiler alert: I didn't feel any better after the pizza. My stomach was heavy and bloated because of the dough, so I was pretty much useless the next day.
Consistency is the key, not perfection. Take care of yourself.
3. Find an exercise that you really enjoy
New: If you hate running, you don't have to run! There's Zumba, yoga, kickboxing, or even those fun trampoline classes that honestly gave me a whole different perspective on bouncing.
Funny story: I once tried amateur archery. Yes, it's harder than it looks, and yes, it made my arms look like the arms of an orangutan as I strained them. But guess what? I laughed, I stretched, and I wasn't afraid to try it again.
4. Friends (human or furry friends welcome)
Everything goes better with a friend - especially when they won't judge you for sweating like a sinner in church during an activity.
Heartwarming fact: My dog thinks we're just walking together, but he's really my partner. He never cancels and always seems excited when he sees me dressing up to go out and take him with me. Find a version of him, even if he's just a virtual friend or a pet.
5. Celebrate small victories
Did you drink enough water today? Rock the biceps, girl! Did you fit into those jeans from last year? Strike a happy pose!
Tear of joy: I once threw up a happy smile in the middle of the grocery store with the steps of a winner because I resisted the call of the candy aisle. Sure, a few people looked at me, but I also got to throw my figure around like a winning movie star.
6. Get rid of the all-or-nothing mindset
Life isn't black and white and neither is your path to health.
Imagine it as a colorful canvas - you can choose the shades.
Important point: I used to think that if I skipped one workout, I would ruin my whole week. Now I think of every day as a new beginning. Did you miss your morning workout at the gym? Well, then the evening dance party in your living room!
7. Remember your "WHY"
On tough days, remind yourself why you started.
Maybe it's to feel more energetic, to keep up with your kids, or to become the strong and confident woman you are.
Confession: I started this journey because I wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin. Not because of likes on Instagram or because a magazine said so, but because of myself. And guess what?
You deserve to feel that way too.
The truth at the end
Your journey to your dream figure and health is not a sprint, but a marathon with occasional snack breaks and maybe a nap or two.
Be patient with yourself, laugh at the occasional slip-ups, and keep moving forward.
Remember that every step you take is a step towards a stronger, healthier, happier you. So put on some rough workout clothes, put on some music, and show the world what you've got!
Stay fabulous, ladies!
