I remember like it was yesterday when my mom took me on an adventure trip to Paris a few years ago.

Ever since I was a little girl, I was a big nomad and enjoyed every adventure that brought me lots of adventure, fun, and geographical and historical knowledge. At the time it was a very rich and educational trip, which with its varied programme gave us quite a hard time with the less favourable weather, but despite the great physical effort of walking around the sights for a long time, I was glowing with enthusiasm and the desire to see as many places as possible that I had only known from films.

There are places in the world that are etched into your soul - places where time slows down and every step is like a journey into history. For me, the Louvre Gallery was just such a place. As a child, I entered this magnificent palace of art like a dream, where colors, brushstrokes, and stories come alive.

I have always been a great admirer of artists who, through their imagination, have been able to capture life on canvas with originality.

A young traveller in Paris

I was no more than 15 years old when I first visited Paris with my mother. The city was just as I imagined it - a swirl of cobbled streets, the smell of fresh croissants and French baguettes wafting through the air, and elegant buildings that seemed to whisper stories from the past. But my heart raced for one reason above all: I wanted to see the Mona Lisa.

At this young age, the only way I knew her name was from school books. She was more than just an image - she was an image that people spoke of with quiet reverence, an image that had a smile full of mystery.

As we approached the Louvre, my mother sensed my excitement and squeezed my hand.

The palace of arts and wonders

The Louvre itself was breathtaking. Its glass pyramid shimmered in the sunlight, contrasting with the historic grandeur of the museum behind it. As we entered, I was overwhelmed by its size. The walls were lined with an endless array of paintings, sculptures, and masterpieces from different centuries and different parts of the world.

I remember walking through the vast halls, my footsteps echoing off the marble floors. Each room opened into the next, revealing new treasures - Renaissance portraits, Greek statues, and huge battle scenes frozen in time. My mother patiently walked me through, telling me stories about the artists and their works she admired.

But nothing prepared me for the moment when we finally arrived at her place.

Face to face with Mona Lisa

There she was, small but mighty, behind protective glass, the Mona Lisa. The crowd was dense, people raising their cameras, whispering in different languages. But for me, everything else faded away.

Her eyes - were they watching me? Her lips - was it a smile or a secret? The closer I looked, the more I felt like she was trying to tell me something. I stood there as if hypnotized, completely lost in her world. Mom whispered: "There she is. She's been watching people for over five hundred years. Imagine the stories she's seen."

At that moment, I understood why people travel from all over the world to see her. She wasn't just a painting - she was a mystery, an experience, a portal to another time.

A place where you can get lost in art

We walked through the museum for hours, and I couldn't get enough of it. I stopped in front of different paintings, sat on the benches, and absorbed every detail - the expressions, the colours, the textures. I was fascinated by how artists could capture life, emotion, and movement with just a brush and paint.

One of the wonders that caught my eye was Winged Victory from Samothrace. It stood there, majestic and ethereal, its wings spread wide, as if it had just landed from another world. I imagined her floating above the sea, untouched by time, her presence powerful even without her face.

And then there was the Vor of Medusa - dark, dramatic, an image that seemed to be in motion. I could feel the despair of the shipwrecked souls and see the struggle in their eyes. It was as if the artist had captured not just an image but a whole storm of emotion.

A moment that changed everything

That day in the Louvre changed something in me. I've always loved stories, but now I realize that art is a story without words. Each painting was a journey, a moment in time that the artist gave to the world.

As we left the museum and returned to the streets of Paris, my head buzzed with excitement. I knew then that this was just the beginning.

I wanted to see more. I wanted to explore more. I wanted to travel the world and discover all the art, history, and cultures it had to offer.

The atmosphere of Paris changed the game once and for all.

The beginning of a lifelong passion

My first trip to Paris sparked a love of travel, a passion for art, and a curiosity about the world that has never faded.

Over the years, I've visited countless places, from romantic spots in Italy or Spain to authentic monuments in New York, and each visit reminded me of that wide-eyed kid in the Louvre.

Even now, when I think back to that magical day, I can still hear the faint echo of footsteps in the great halls of the museum, feel the cool air inside the galleries, and see the Mona Lisa.

Paris, the Louvre, and that sightseeing trip - these were the first pages of a lifelong adventure.
